Together, we make the difference.
Southwest Dallas AFT members build power and win on important issues that reshape school policy, improve working conditions, give school employees a real voice in the decision-making process, and stand up against attacks on our public schools. If you are an educator in Cedar Hill ISD, DeSoto ISD, Duncanville ISD, or Lancaster ISD, join your committed peers in their fight to thrive.
“If you think something is not as it should be, you address the issue. If nothing is ever said or done, then things can’t change. For me, our union is where change can happen, and I can be a part of that change!”
“I joined AFT to be a voice for others, and to fight for what’s right. I believe the work of AFT is important, because it shows non-members that we stand up for our rights and get the job done. When we stand together as a union, we become one strong voice.”
“For me, a strong union is the backbone of the foundation of education. Public education and the union go hand in hand and are synonymous with ‘strength.’ As my dad said, ‘I go forward.’ Our union allows me to do that.”
